L&Q Major Works Programme
At L&Q, we are committed to investing in our existing homes to ensure our residents have safe and decent homes.
We are committed to improving the safety, quality, comfort, and environmental performance of our residents' homes, and we want to ensure that every one of our homes can be warm, dry, and safe.
This is why we are embarking on a Major Works programme that will see nearly £3bn of home investment over the next 15 years.
David Lewis, L&Q Director of Property Services, said,
"At L&Q, we are excited about our major works investment programme and benefits it will bring. We want to positively demonstrate that we are leading the way in our approach to improving homes for our residents".
As part of this programme, we will provide around 48,000 new kitchens and 42,000 new bathrooms for our affordable tenants.
This will include heating and window upgrades and installing low carbon measures such as ground source heat pumps and solar panels to ensure all our homes achieve an EPC C rating or above by 2030.
To date, we have already completed work on over 10,000 of our residents' homes.
The programme will transform our residents' homes and leave a lasting legacy. Social value is a critical feature of this.
We have partnered with the Social Value Portal (SVP), who are market leaders in the UK; they procure, measure and report social value operationally.
We are focusing on five key areas: jobs, growth, social, environment and innovation.
We will track all their social value activities throughout the contract's life. The results will be reported widely, including to our residents.
