L&Q's Neighbourhood Housing team working together

Published on 05/06/2024

Recently, a group of Neighbourhood Housing Leads (NHLs) from our five regions participated in a workshop-based resident involvement session.

A total of 124 Housing Management staff attended the sessions.

The main aims of the workshop were to discuss:

  • the different ways residents can get involved at L&Q
  • the role NHLs play in involving residents
  • how to build confidence when engaging with residents
  • how working collaboratively with residents is part of the solution for a better service

The content for the workshop was based on common themes L&Q receives from involved residents.

One of our Neighbourhood Champions also shared her experience working collaboratively with an NHL.

Another important element of the training was for NHLs to share challenges they’ve experienced and examples of what has worked well and what can be improved.

Mehran Ahmed, Area Housing Manager at L&Q, commented on the training:

‘’We found the Resident Involvement training insightful as it showed the importance of involving residents through the work our NHLs deliver in our communities.

"We always want to work with residents as they have the experience of living in their communities and we value their opinions.’’

The suggestions from this training will be shared with the Heads of Housing so that each region can highlight any changes that could be implemented in the future.

The Resident Involvement team will also be offering ongoing support to NHLs, providing them with feedback from residents about how they would like to work collaboratively in the future.
