Update on communal cleaning services in London

We wanted to let you know about some changes from April 2024 to the services provided to clean communal, or shared, areas of apartment blocks for residents living in London.

With our current communal cleaning contracts due to end shortly, we've been busy getting new contracts in place.

As part of this work, our team spoke with residents to understand any issues that they may have experienced with the current services, and from this have created a new list of requirements setting out what we and residents expect from our new cleaning contractors.

We've also created a new reporting system for our housing team to help identify and raise issues with communal cleaning. This is so that the Estate Services team can make sure that our new contractors are delivering what they say they will.

From April 2024, we have allocated a dedicated cleaning contractor to each of our five London regions:

  • East Inner – Pinnacle
  • London SE and Kent – Chequers
  • London NW – Just Ask
  • East Outer – Bidvest Noonan
  • London SW – New Green

Next steps

The new cleaning contractors are due to come into place in April 2024. From March, we will provide you with more detailed information on the cleaning service where you live, which will also be available on noticeboards, where possible, and can be requested from your Neighbourhood Housing Lead.

Please note, for residents living in North West England, there are no changes to your communal cleaning services.
