How L&Q governs and oversees its finances
Find out how we oversee our finances, report our financial performance, manage financial risks and make sure financial decisions are properly governed.
How we oversee our finances
We have checks and controls in place to help us manage our finances responsibly.
Different teams and groups are responsible for monitoring our finances:
- Our Group Board oversees our financial performance and makes important decisions about our finances and investment
- Our Audit and Risk Committee oversees financial reporting, risks and the checks and controls we have in place
- Senior leaders regularly review financial performance, spending and risks, and take action when issues are identified
- Finance and service teams monitor spending, financial risks, value for money and performance throughout the year
These checks help make sure:
- spending is properly approved
- money is used for the right purposes
- finances are managed effectively
- financial information is accurate and reliable
- financial risks are identified and managed
Together, they help us identify issues early, manage risks and make informed decisions about homes and services.
How we report on our finances
We publish information about our finances and performance throughout the year. This helps residents and others understand how we're managing money.
This includes:
- our annual financial statements, which include information about our income, spending and financial performance
- our Value for Money statement 2025/26 (PDF, 6.8MB), which explains how we're using money and resources and where we're working to improve
- L&Q's performance against our strategic commitments, which shows how we're doing against our priorities
- our quarterly trading statements, which provide updates on our financial and operational performance
How we manage financial risks
We regularly assess financial and other risks that could affect our ability to provide homes and services.
We test how our finances could be affected by different situations, including:
- rising costs
- economic changes
- changes in the housing market
- increased demand for services
This helps us understand how these risks could affect us, plan how we would respond and take action to protect services and maintain our financial stability.
