Targeting support for Waltham Forest residents through our place-based approach to community investment
Our support for Waltham Forest residents ranges from providing employment advice to working with local partners to deliver health and wellbeing initiatives for people of all ages and abilities.
Through our Foundation, we allocate grants to community projects based on residents' feedback about the kinds of projects they want to see.
Since October 2024, we’ve invested almost £28,500 in several community-led activities to promote a healthy lifestyle, address social isolation and empower young people.
Free activities currently on offer include:
The Blair Academy Saturday Tea Dance at the Seddon Centre
The Blair Academy local group organises the weekly “Beaumont Crew” social club for older residents.
The weekly sessions bring people together through the power of hip-hop dance and music to promote healthy, happy ageing.
There are 74 residents aged between 54 and 89 years old who have signed up for the group.
They have built community connections that transcend social and cultural borders while improving their physical, emotional and mental health.
The dance sessions started in April 2024 and will run until May 2025.
