L&Q, one of the UK’s leading charitable housing associations, has appointed two new Executive Group Directors for Customer Services and Property Services.

The move follows the news that Gerri Scott, current Executive Group Director for Customer Services, will retire in April. L&Q will be splitting her role, creating a new Property Services division.

This will support the organisation in delivering its strategic and operational plans and increase Executive level capacity and capability in respect of Maintenance and Property Services.

David Lewis will be taking up the role of Executive Group Director, Property Services, and Matt Foreman will be taking up the role of Executive Group Director, Customer Services.

David joined L&Q as Director of Property Services in October 2020, leading vital improvements in how L&Q delivers major works.

He has led L&Q’s preparations for its sector leading Major Works Investment Programme, which will make sure every resident has a safe and decent home in which to live.

Matt joined Trafford Housing Trust as Interim Director of Operations and Integration in March 2022, providing strong, local leadership in the North West.

He has played a vital role in coordinating the smooth integration of THT into L&Q over the past year while maintaining excellent levels of customer service in the North West.

Both David and Matt will begin their new roles from 1 March.

Fiona Fletcher-Smith, Group Chief Executive of L&Q, said,

“I’m delighted to have two strong leaders join our Executive Group and am looking forward to working closely with David and Matt to deliver our corporate priorities in two of the most important areas of our business for residents.

“David has led from the front to make sure that we’re all connected and prepared for delivering the largest investment programme in our history and residents are well informed along the way. We will fully come together as one organisation at the end of March, and it’s a testament to Matt and his team’s efforts that we’ve achieved so much through our Alignment Journey and are in such a strong position, ready to come together as one L&Q in a few weeks’ time.”
