Pound Advice is a partner service funded by the L&Q Foundation and managed by We are Digital, offering financial advice to any resident in difficulty.

As the nation faces a period of uncertainty, people may be feeling the pinch now more than ever.

For L&Q residents, however, free financial support is available from Pound Advice – where despite working from makeshift home offices, it’s business as usual.

“The team are all set up at home and ready to go” project manager Glenn Winney said. “The only difference in service will obviously be no face to face appointments, just all phone appointments for now.”

“We do have capacity for video calls and the amount of appointments available will remain the same.”

Pound Advice is a partner service funded by the L&Q Foundation and managed by We are Digital, offering financial advice to any resident in difficulty. Its workers, who are qualified and regulated, are on hand to help as Covid-19 sweeps the nation.

The service is a vital lifeline, offering debt counselling and financial capability training to residents who are struggling with their finances. They offer advice on benefits, income maximisation and managing debt.

“If you’re in any doubt, give us a call and have a quick ten-minute chat,” Glenn continued. “You never know where it could lead.

“It doesn’t work for everyone, but some people have phoned up not expecting much and three months later they’ve had a backdated payment worth hundreds or sometimes thousands, so it’s worth a call.”

“We’re here to help as best we can during a time when financial uncertainty is affecting a lot of people.”
