Supporting local residents and groups through our Community Fund

Through our Foundation we develop and fund social initiatives for residents and their communities.

Since 2023, we’ve concentrated community investment in core boroughs where need is greatest and we have the highest number of homes.

Our Foundation works with community groups to deliver health and wellbeing projects for residents, taking into account marginalised communities that encounter inequalities and deprivation.

Through its Community Fund, our Foundation allocates grants to community-led projects after consulting local people about the kinds of initiatives they want to see provided in their neighbourhoods.

This place-based approach to investing in local communities means that we maximise our impact by listening to residents and providing targeted support.

Projects range from youth-led schemes, where we provide safe spaces for young people to learn, express themselves and take part in physical activity, to supporting older residents who face social isolation.

We’ve also focused on removing barriers to engagement for people from diverse ethnic backgrounds as part of our mission to support inclusive, cohesive communities.

Since October last year (2024), our Foundation has awarded over £250,000 to community projects in London boroughs and Trafford, Manchester.

Alex Neil, Community Development Manager at L&Q’s Foundation said:

“No one is better placed to advise us on how we distribute our funding than local residents themselves who know their communities inside out.

We’ve had a great response to our Community Fund and we’re proud of the influence we’ve had in enabling communities to strengthen and grow with the benefit of our support.

The work doesn’t stop here, we’re continuing our efforts throughout 2025 and beyond as part of our mission to deliver social value where it’s needed most.”
