L&Q partner is game for donation to Hackney nursery
A Hackney nursery has received a donation of board games from partnership which is improving social housing conditions in the borough.
Halo Nursery operates on the Haggerston Estate in Hackney, and has been working with Valued Green, a charity which supports families in East and North London with the cost-of-living.
The estate is managed by L&Q, one of the UK’s leading charitable housing associations.
The donation came about after L&Q introduced Valued Green to Morgan Sindall Property Services in July 2024, one of its partners working to improve its homes in the area.
Since October 2024, Morgan Sindall has provided regular donations of food and household items to the charity.
Morgan Sindall Property Services is one of 10 partners working with L&Q on its Major Works Investment Programme.
This will see L&Q invest around £3bn over 15 years to improve the safety, comfort, and environmental performance of residents’ homes. As part of their contracts, all of L&Q’s partners have signed social value commitments to make a lasting impact for residents and their wider communities.
Mark Newstead, Director of Major Programmes at L&Q, said:
“Our partnership with Morgan Sindall Property Services is helping ensure that residents have safe and decent homes that are fit for the future. But it’s also about making a difference in the communities where we work. We’re delighted that this resulted in support for Valued Green and Halo Nursery, which both play a critical role supporting households in the Haggerston Estate and beyond.”
Arjun Ghosh, Social Value Officer at Morgan Sindall Property Services, said:
“L&Q first recommended Valued Green to us as a worthy charity that does amazing work to support the residents of the Haggerston Estate and especially the children and families that use Halo. We are not only refurbishing residents’ homes but by aiding initiatives like these can help improve their lives and the communities we work in.”
