Celebrating our community champions.

Residents and colleagues at L&Q Living came together last Friday to celebrate the unsung heroes of their communities, recognising the outstanding contributions of individuals who go above and beyond to improve the lives of those around them.

Our Values Awards, held for our southern colleagues and residents at Sidcup and Footscray United Services Club, highlighted the dedication and passion of residents and colleagues fostering inclusion to support independence. This year’s winners reflected the best of L&Q Living’s community spirit.

Among the residents recognised was Carol Gibson from Evelyn Sharp House, who took home the Passion Award for her commitment to improving her scheme and the wider community.

Jakki Cummings from Dreywood Court received the Inclusion Award, acknowledging her efforts to bring together people from diverse backgrounds and challenge stigma. Her work in promoting diversity and supporting others has had a lasting impact on those around her.

The event also paid tribute to L&Q Living colleagues who make a difference every day. Moses Muwanika was named Care and Support Staff of the Year, while Dorothy Fernandes won Housing Staff of the Year. Although she was unable to attend the event, her dedication did not go unnoticed.

Reflecting on the event, James Denman, Head of Service at L&Q Living, said:

“We had another amazing day recognising the inspirational work of our colleagues and residents who have worked tirelessly throughout the year to ensure their schemes are great places to live and work. We are so proud of not only our winners but everyone who was nominated and continues to live and breathe L&Q’s values on a daily basis.”
