The Kevin Jenkins OBE Christmas Toy Appeal

A massive thank you to everyone who donated to The Kevin Jenkins OBE Christmas Toy Appeal 2022

Our apprentices and graduates launched the Kevin Jenkins OBE Christmas Toy Appeal* in November 2022, asking for donations of new gifts to support Newham’s most disadvantaged, vulnerable and at-risk children at Christmas.

A total of eight games, 21 books (including some boxed sets), 22 toys, 38 arts and craft gifts, 20 jigsaw puzzles and £120 in gift vouchers was collected.

With 2,800 referrals to the charity last year, all donations filled a Christmas stocking specific to the child’s age, needs and ability.

We’ve been blown away by your generosity, especially during this most challenging of years. Your gifts made a big difference to the children on Christmas morning - Thank you so much.

A special thank you to our star sorters from the Early Talent Group, Anthony Nolan, Oge Ughanze, Debbie Collier and Vicki Bryan, as well as L&Qs Electrical Supervisor Jon Charman and Bobby McKay for delivering the gifts to the toy warehouse.

Jonny Boux, Chief Executive of AAA, thanked the team of L&Q volunteers for their work and said: “A huge thank you for all your support. It made a big difference to the many vulnerable children and young people across Newham.”
