Resident Assembly Summer 2025
July 2025 - Homelife
On Saturday 21 June, 51 residents from London and the South East as well as from the North West joined us at our first L&Q Resident Assembly to share their views on how we’re doing and help shape our future priorities.
The L&Q Resident Assemblies (replacing our Annual Resident Conference), will take place three times a year and are open to any interested residents.
These events bring residents together with L&Q colleagues, including Group Board, Resident Services Board and Executive Group to focus on discussion, collaboration, learning and decision-making on our future priorities.
The Assembly began with an opportunity to meet colleagues at various themed stalls to get more information on the L&Q Foundation, jobs, our Major Works programme, and repairs amongst other areas.
Residents and L&Q colleagues then quickly settled into the focus of the day by joining in discussions on themed tables to talk about areas residents have told us are important to them. Some of these themes included:
- keeping homes in good repair
- keeping homes and buildings safe
- treating residents with fairness and respect
- handling complaints effectively
- keeping communal areas clean and well maintained
The valuable discussions helped us to identify the impact of our work in these areas, whether residents were feeling a difference from changes we’d made and what we could do more to improve.
One resident commented:
“Although there’s still a long way to go and some residents are not totally convinced that the changes will happen, I have the utmost confidence they will.”
Another resident added:
“The staff in the room have been really responsive and want to deliver better results for residents. Whilst the event has been enjoyable, what is most important is to see change and actions that will seep down to ground level and felt by residents on a day-to-day level.”
We’ll be providing you with more updates on our work to address these areas in future editions of Homelife.
