Last month, L&Q residents at Ibex House in Stratford attended a Bike Day to have their bikes checked, serviced and repaired by the renowned Dr Bike programme.

Some residents said that because of this they could finally use their bikes again.

Dr Bike is an initiative that offers free bike repair services to communities and helps to encourage healthy lifestyles and enable people to take part in environmentally friendly activities. It was arranged through L&Q’s partnership with LawTech, a specialist housing refurbishment contractor who have been carrying out building safety improvement works at the estate.

Through its Major Works Investment Programme, L&Q is investing over the next 15 years to make sure every resident has a safe and decent home to live in, with all homes maintained to the Decent Homes Standard – a technical standard set by the government for public housing.

L&Q’s purpose is to provide homes and neighbourhoods everyone can be proud of. Alongside works to improve the quality, safety and environmental efficiency of homes, contractors who sign up to the Major Works Investment Programme must share L&Q’s commitment to unlocking social value in communities.
