Easter Eggstravaganza!
A cracking good time was had by all when residents and colleagues enjoyed some time together at our easter-themed events.
Residents of The Arbour, a new neighbourhood which forms part of the Beaulieu development on the outskirts of Chelmsford, raised funds for a local charity. Their bug hotel making and egg cup painting saw a range of designs produced from racing cars to bumble bees and for every attendee, we pledged to donate in support of the Big Give Green Match Fund. The grand total of £2,700 was raised for the Wilderness Foundation.
At Walthamstow Stadium, more than 200 people attended the Easter event, with around 100 children taking part in a massive Easter egg hunt. A face painter was also kept busy with all kinds of Easter designs.
The Quarry, an innovative new development in Erith, hosted a site-wide Easter egg hunt with an abundance of chocolate prizes.
We also supported residents who organised their own community events. Barking Riverside’s Wander Wild project used funding from the Barking Riverside Limited Community Fund, to run an Easter Cookout Event, with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows. Children decorated some butterflies, cooked in the mud kitchen, and went exploring for bugs.
At Acton Gardens in south London, a provider pulled out on the day of the event so some quick thinking was needed to save the event! Our fantastic team rose to the occasion and organised a last-minute arts and crafts afternoon, including egg painting and stencil work.
A big thank you to everybody who took part!
