Connecting Communities
Free internet voucher for a year
We’re offering one year’s free internet vouchers to residents in receipt of benefits or on a low income.
We’re also launching free technology workshops in spring with full fibre internet provider Hyper Optics.
At L&Q, we’re working with various telecoms partners to provide better internet connectivity to your home.
To give you more choice, we're working closely with partners Hyperoptic, G.Network, Openreach and Community Fibre to install full fibre internet in our neighbourhoods.
Full fibre gives you between 10-15 times more speed compared to normal broadband.
Our internet providers have already installed Wi-fi Hubs in community spaces and up to 48,000 homes, and over the next few years, works will continue to install new full fibre cabling and wiring in even more local areas.
Residents will not be charged for this work.
Free internet vouchers and technology workshops
Residents in receipt of benefits or on a lower income may qualify for vouchers for one year’s free internet.
Vouchers are limited - to find out if you're eligible for this offer, please contact Moses Ashison by email at mosesashison@lqgroup.org.uk.
Free technology workshops will launch in spring with provider Hyper Optics. They’ll contact all residents in the area, to enrol in the workshops.
How will I know if I have full fibre installed in my community?
Where Hyper Optics is installed or will install fibre internet, they’ll contact all residents in the area.
You can also check if full fibre is already installed by visiting your internet provider’s website.
Will I experience any disruption when full fibre internet is installed?
The work will cause minimal disruption and noise to you. We’ll send a letter to you at least one week before notifying you of when we’ll start.
We’ll install full fibre cables to communal areas, like hallways, stairwells and electrical cupboards. There’s no need for us to go into your home.
Once on-site and work is taking place, the providers will have a Delivery Manager who will be able to answer any questions you might have.
Do I have to change my current internet provider?
You don’t have to switch providers as the service will run alongside other providers.
Will you be installing internet connections in communal spaces?
Community Fibre and Hyper Optic will deliver a free Gigafast™ connection to community spaces including public halls, schools and libraries.
If I have already had full fibre installed and experience a technical issue, who do I contact?
Contact your provider directly who will be on hand to resolve your technical issue.
