As National Customer Service Week (NCSW) gets underway (7 – 11 October), L&Q has launched its zero tolerance campaign against abusive behaviour towards our people.

Inspired by the NCSW “Service with Respect” campaign, which is the theme of the day for Tuesday 8 October, our initiative is entitled “I’m here to help, please treat me with respect.”

It’s a reminder that colleagues have the right to carry out their work and support communities without being abused or threatened.

Matt Foreman, Executive Group Director for Customer Services, said:

“No one should face physical or verbal abuse for doing their job. We all have the right to work in an environment where we feel safe.

"Sadly, our colleagues sometimes encounter unacceptable behaviour or abuse from a very small minority of residents or members of the public.

"While this isn’t reflective of the vast majority of the people and communities, it’s important to get the message out that we do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour of any kind.

"We’re committed to working together with residents to keep communities and the colleagues who serve them safe.”

Our campaign will run throughout October with posts on our social media channels and posters displayed on estates.

We’ve also made sure that colleagues are aware of the support available should they find themselves the subject of abuse.
