Volunteers Week 2025: Impact Value award
Our Impact Value award goes to John O’Hagan with runner up Annick Robson
A resident who works in partnership with neighbours and resident-facing colleagues to find opportunities to measure and improve their community or our services.
The residents will actively seek ways to positively contribute ideas and actions when faced with problems to help us to continuously improve.
This could be focused within their community or specifically looking at our services and processes.
Impact Value awards winner, John O'Hagan
Living in Victoria since 1986, John has supported residents and L&Q colleagues, particularly his Neighbourhood Housing Lead (NHL), to make his neighbourhood and his community a better place to live in.
He said, “I wanted to make it (the neighbourhood) better than it is.”
He played a key role in improving Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in his area by arranging and participating in police estate walk abouts with his NHL, Mathe Akueme, who said,
“having people like John is like having my eye on the estate. Any issues, like ASB, he tells me. We're working very well together.”
John also goes out of his way to support vulnerable residents in his local area by supporting them to carry out errands.
He has improved community spaces, like the communal garden, for the benefit of the wider estate. John is a dedicated and proactive resident who regularly joins his NHL for monthly estate inspections and has a strong commitment to improving the estate.
Impact Value award runner up, Annick Robson
Neighbourhood Champion Annick from Richmond Surrey goes out of her way to support residents on her estate.
She’s been an actively involved L&Q resident since 1982.
She assisted many residents with vulnerabilities in the last year to progress repairs or concerns and provide cooked meals and provide respite to residents when they were impacted by repairs in their home.
Annick has had a huge impact on her local community by proactively volunteering with our resident involvement team to advocate for our wider resident base and help improve decision making across L&Q.
