Start your career in social housing with L&Q’s 2026 Early Talent programme
Take the first step towards a career with L&Q
L&Q has started recruiting across Greater London and Greater Manchester for our 2026 Early Talent programme. The aim of the programme is to provide new opportunities for the next generation of social housing professionals.
This year, the Early Talent programme will offer more than 40 new positions, with a mix of apprenticeships and graduate positions across the whole organisation.
These include roles across HR, customer service, and technology and procurement, as well as trade-focused roles, such as carpenters, electricians, property maintenance operatives and more.

These apprenticeships offer participants the chance to earn while they learn, combining paid hands-on experience with fully funded qualifications.
Apprentices will receive expert-on-the-job training, structured development programmes, a competitive salary, and access to a range of employee benefits.
All Early Talent roles benefit from L&Q’s partnerships with specialist training providers and mentorship from experienced staff, with many having started their own careers as apprentices.
In addition to technical skills, apprentices will develop broader capabilities in areas including communication, and networking.

To find out more and how to apply, visit Working at L&Q. You can also learn more about the kind of jobs available in the sector, and specifically at L&Q through our virtual work experience programme.
Delivered in partnership with Springpod, this interactive course will take around 5 hours to complete, and participants will explore what it’s like to work at L&Q, one of the UK’s leading housing associations, providing an introduction to the housing sector, covering career pathways across the organisation, and employability skills, with a certificate awarded on completion.

“Since its formation, our Early Talent programme has provided so many opportunities to apprentices and graduates, most of whom have progressed into permanent roles with us, and built long-lasting careers in our teams.
“We’re really proud of the brilliant apprentices and graduates the programme has nurtured so far, and look forward to welcoming more people on board, with over 40 opportunities to join in this year.
“We’ve made a long-term commitment to investing in the safety and quality of residents’ homes, and our Early Talent programme is just one step we’ve taken to support this.
“The new recruits who come through this programme will bring fresh perspectives and the chance to make their mark in social housing, whilst gaining lifelong skills and career progression opportunities, and that will only make us as an organisation stronger and equipped to deliver our future goals."
L&Q currently employs more than 50 apprentices and 10 graduates, including 20 maintenance employees who joined last year.
