Major Works Investment Programme project scoops community engagement award

One of our Major Works Investment Programme (MWIP) project teams has been recognised for its collaborative approach to working with residents. 

Lewisham Park Towers, which was regenerated and retrofitted last year won Community Engagement Project of the Year at the 2026 Construction News Awards on 9 July.

The award, which was presented at a ceremony in London, recognises how our MWIP partner Axis Europe worked with residents whilst regenerating and retrofitting the three buildings.

Axis embedded engagement into every stage, working closely with residents throughout the programme to help minimise disruption, build trust and support the community while the major improvement works were carried out.

The project team worked closely with residents throughout, keeping them informed about the works as well as listening to their concerns and putting them right.

The project saw extensive improvements to residents’ homes, including external wall insulation, new windows, roof replacements and major building safety and energy efficiency upgrades.

Some of the community initiatives included a dedicated resident hub, wellbeing activities, work-from-home pods, regular resident forums and tailored support from Resident Liaison Officers.

It shows what can be achieved when we all work together towards a shared goal.”
