First residents’ coffee morning hailed a great success
Listening to and tackling residents’ concerns is how we ‘brew’ it at L&Q. So, there was more than just ‘tea and sympathy’ on offer when the first-ever coffee morning at the Oakley Drive L&Q site in New Eltham was organised by our partner Wates Group.
Residents enjoyed lovely conversations while tucking into tasty treats like hot drinks and a delicious orange and chocolate cake.
The event also allowed residents to air their concerns with our colleagues and partners and hear our responses and solutions.
One happy resident celebrated after winning an air fryer as a free raffle prize, donated by Rost Tyshkov and Bogdan Tsetnarsky of BDG Contracts Limited.
The event was organised by Resident Liaison Officer Barb Crowhurst and her team.
Dovile Catterick, Social Value Manager at Wates Group, said:
“I'm thrilled that our first coffee morning went incredibly well. It was a great team effort from everyone involved and they did an amazing job.
"All the residents left with huge smiles on their faces, and many thanked us for listening to their concerns. It’s truly rewarding to see them feel heard and appreciated.”
Mark Newstead, Director of Major Programmes at L&Q, said:
“A massive thank you to the team at Wates Group for organising the coffee morning and to L&Q colleagues for supporting them.
"Meetings and consultations like these are so important because our residents are our top priority. We’re committed to making sure they feel valued and happy in their homes.”
Wates Group is one of ten partners working with us on our Major Works Investment Programme.
This will see us invest around £3bn over 15 years to improve the safety, comfort, and environmental performance of residents’ homes.
Beyond improving homes, the partnership includes social value commitments to create a lasting impact in the communities where we operate.
