L&Q’s One Goal returns for spring
This spring young people across London can look forward to free sports and crafts activities throughout the Easter holidays with L&Q’s One Goal.
The holiday club is being delivered in partnership with nine football clubs across London and will run from 3-13 April. Free activities include: street dance, Zumba, dodgeball, laser tag, table tennis, football, basketball, climbing, cooking, arts & crafts, face painting and more.
One Goal will also be continuing its partnership with Kitchen Social, part of the Mayor's Fund for London, meaning youngsters who take part will be offered free meals at least once a week.
L&Q’s One Goal is a sports and creative arts programme that encourages young people to be physically active, make healthy lifestyle choices and enjoy creative pursuits during the school holidays. It’s open to everyone aged 5-21 years old.
The project is funded by the L&Q Foundation with a £377,000 grant which ensures all activities are free and that there is no financial barrier for young people to get involved.
Matt Corbett, Director of the L&Q Foundation, said:
“One Goal is a fantastic chance for young people to keep physically active, be creative and have fun with friends during the holidays. The programme has been attracting record numbers of young people and we expect this spring to be as popular as ever.
We are also very proud to be continuing our partnership with Kitchen Social, providing free school meals and tackling food poverty which is a great concern for many families during school holidays.
Sadiq Khan, The Mayor of London, said:
“London is world-renowned for its sport and culture. As Mayor I’m committed to helping young people lead healthier, more active lifestyles, so I am really proud to see this successful partnership between some of the capital’s biggest football clubs and a valued housing partner continue for another year. I’m confident it will inspire even more young Londoners to get active and creative during the holidays.”
