L&Q Living has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for its East Living Domiciliary Care Service, following a recent inspection.

East Living Domiciliary Care Service provides care and support to people living in four 'supported living' settings, so that they can live in their own home as independently as possible.

According to the CQC’s latest State of Care report, only 2% of adult social care services are rated as ‘Outstanding’.

The inspection took place on 5 and 12 December 2017 and the subsequent report stated that residents and their relatives felt the service was safe.

The report also noted that staff were caring, knew the needs and preferences of the residents as well as people’s life histories and supported them to overcome significant barriers and achieve positive outcomes in their lives.

Charlie Culshaw, Director of L&Q Living said: We are delighted to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating and be ranked amongst the top 2% of adult social care services in the country. We have made significant changes to improve the service since last year and ensure we are providing the necessary support in the right way so that residents can live as safely and independently as possible. It’s wonderful to see the team’s hard work and dedication has paid off.”

The report said: “Registered managers and staff had an excellent understanding of managing risks and supported people that had previously challenged services to reach their full potential. The service was seen to constantly adapt and strive to ensure people who used the service were able to achieve their full potential. Over a period of time we saw that people were supported to progress and their support plans and environment adapted and developed to promote their independence.”
