Summer holiday fun

Published on 21/07/2017

Our One Goal programme is coming back for the summer holidays. Young people aged between five and 21 can enjoy a summer of free activities across 22 boroughs.

One Goal is a sport and creative arts holiday programme, which aims to involve, motivate and inspire young people across the city. It has just rolled out its summer batch of free activities and the fun starts on Monday 24 July.

This summer’s programme will be bigger and better than ever and this time there will be an added bonus. L&Q is working in partnership with the Mayor’s Fund to offer free meals from the Kitchen Social scheme. The clubs involved in scheme are Charlton, West Ham, QPR, Spurs and Millwall.

There are plenty of activities on offer including assault courses, cricket, dodgeball, DJ workshops, arts and crafts, laser tag, sumo suit wrestling and street dance. The One Goal programme also offers opportunities for work placements, a level 1 coaching qualification, volunteering and apprenticeships.

The scheme is delivered by nine professional football clubs across the capital, including Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leyton Orient, Millwall, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham and QPR. The activities have been made possible thanks to our partnership with these nine clubs and funding from the L&Q Foundation.

There’s a lot to choose from and get involved in so if you have children, or are 21 or under yourself, why not sign up? All activities are available to book online at http://www.cact.org.uk/lq-one-goal.
