L&Q top the 50 Biggest Builders Survey
Leading charitable housing association L&Q are excited to announce we have topped Inside Housing’s Biggest Builder Survey.
The survey gives a snapshot of the sector and the progress being made by housing associations to deliver the much-needed homes this country needs.
L&Q tops the survey for completions in 2018/19, as it in 2017/18, with 2,862 completed homes. The leading housing association has also started building 6,316 homes – more than double its nearest competitor.
L&Q has a target of delivering 10,000 homes a year, which it hopes to meet by the end of the next decade. Fiona Fletcher-Smith, Group Director of Development and Sales said: “Inside Housing’s data shows that housing associations are playing a vital role in tackling the housing crisis. At L&Q, we are delighted to be leading that effort with our ambitious plans to build 100,000 homes over the next decade.
“This is an exciting time for L&Q as we expand to new geographical areas, introduce innovative modern methods of construction, and form partnerships with like-minded organisations. We will do this whilst reinvesting our profits to ensure quality across our stock.”
Across the sector, the UK’s largest housing associations have boosted their completions by 8% having built just over 38,000, which is up on last year’s figure of 35,370.
