Regeneration project Weavers Quarter took home Highly Commended in the Best Development in the Affordable Homes sector at the Evening Standard Awards.

A joint venture between L&Q and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Weavers Quarter, is one of London’s most ambitious regeneration projects. The new homes will bring a broad range of first time buyers from across the capital to up-and-coming Barking.

Due for completion in 2024, the enormous regeneration project will see a once run-down east London estate transformed into a thriving new community. Once complete, Weavers Quarter will bring 1,575 brand new affordable homes to the area, and provide homes for more than 5,500 people.

There will be approximately 690 primary school places, 1,850 secondary school places, a community centre, retail and office space and a new public square.
