Grampian House

Welcome to the Grampian House website

We’ll use this page to help keep you updated on our investigations into Grampian House, what this means for you.

As you know, we are carrying out detailed assessments to meet requirements from the Building Safety Regulator. Following this work, and since our last update in April, we want to explain what we’ve decided and how we’ll support you.

Our findings

After careful investigation and independent expert advice, we have decided that the safest and most responsible long-term option is to support residents to move to new homes and close Grampian House over the next three years.

Engineers have confirmed the building was partly constructed using a Large Panel System (LPS), which may not meet current safety standards for extreme events.

We looked at all options, including upgrading the building. However, this would be highly disruptive, requiring long temporary moves, and still would not guarantee long-term safety due to the building’s age and design.

Supporting you to move once, permanently, avoids ongoing disruption and provides greater certainty.

What this means for you

What this means to you personally will have been set out in the letter you've received, but if you've any questions please contact us using the details below.

Please note, if you have temporarily been moved to Grampian House, this does not apply to you and is just for information.

Ongoing safety assessments and works

All safety checks and fire improvement works will continue as normal.

Housing needs assessment

If you choose to complete a housing needs assessment online, you will still need to meet with us in person for a follow-up appointment. Once you have submitted your survey online you will be asked to book a suitable time and date and a member of our team will contact you to confirm this appointment.

At the agreed time and date, a Communities Coordinator will visit you at home to talk through your responses, make sure we have a full understanding of your needs, and answer any questions you may have. This helps us ensure we have all the information we need to provide you with the best support as you move forward to a new home.

How we will support you

We will contact you soon to introduce you to your coordinator who will support you through the whole process.

If you have specific questions, you can contact us:
