Ending your tenancy - intermediate rent (IMR)
We need you to:
- Send in a IMR Tenancy Surrender Notice (85 kb PDF) giving us at least two months notice that you are ending your tenancy. Please note that your tenancy can not end on a Sunday or a bank holiday. The two months notice will start from the date we receive your notice.
Tell us your new address, your current utility companies and the reason for leaving your Property.
Pay your rent until your tenancy ends, as well as any arrears and other moneys owed to L&Q. You can contact our Income Team to discuss your final payments
Meet us at your property on the day you vacate to hand over your keys. If this is not possible, keys should be returned to your local office. Please speak to your Property Manager to make these arrangements.
- Your Property Manager will contact you to arrange an inspection of the property before the end of the tenancy, please agree a suitable date and time for this to take place.
Allow applicants to view your home during the two month notice period.
Please note that L&Q have no obligation to re-house you through the IMR scheme.
Leaving your home in good condition
Please ensure you leave your home in a clean and tidy condition so we can re-let it without having to repair things that you have damaged, change things you have altered or remove old furniture and rubbish. As per the terms of your tenancy, we will charge you for the cost of work if we have to put things right and this will be deducted from your deposit. Our IMR Team will request refunds of deposits when you have vacated your home.
