We are pleased to join Westminster City Council’s new Housing Compact. Launching today, the Compact is a collaborative agreement aimed at tackling both local and industry-wide housing challenges through partnership.

Two families stood together

With 11 housing providers signed up, this partnership will enable us to leverage our collective expertise and resources to enhance service delivery and improve outcomes for residents.

The Compact’s five key themes are:

  • Effective housing partnership – forming a strong relationship where partners work together strategically and operationally
  • Housing supply – retaining, growing and maximising affordable housing supply in Westminster
  • High quality services to residents – delivering services to residents that focus on tenancy sustainment, homelessness prevention, and safeguarding residents with additional needs
  • Safer and healthier homes – Delivering the best quality, safe, healthy and secure homes and neighbourhoods for residents
  • Local place-based services – Offering local, resident-centred services in our communities

Kristian Melgaard, Interim Director of Housing Management at L&Q, said:

“We are proud to be part of Westminster’s new Housing Compact.

"Housing associations like L&Q have a long history of working with local authorities to meet housing needs.

"This new partnership outlines how we will work together to deliver high-quality, affordable homes, providing residents with the foundation they need to live a happy, healthy life.”

Cllr Liza Begum, Cabinet Member for Housing Services at Westminster City Council, said:

“The housing compact marks a clear commitment from us and our partners to work towards a shared goal of ensuring our residents have affordable and comfortable housing.

"I am looking forward to working with our partners to bring about better outcomes for residents for many years to come.”
