L&Q announces three senior board and committee appointments

L&Q has today announced three senior Board and Committee appointments as the housing association continues to strengthen its governance.
Nigel Hopkins is to join the Group Board and become Chair of Audit and Risk Committee (A&RC), Raj Kambo will also join the A&RC, and James Rolton will join the Development Committee.
Nigel Hopkins is an experienced Non-Executive Director who is currently Chair of the Audit Committee of Places for People, Chair of MHS Homes, Chair of a Social Finance fund for End-of-Life Care and Chair of Instructus. He has enjoyed a successful and varied executive career with International Blue Chip and Regulated businesses.
He has extensive experience in organisational transformation in both the private and public sectors, most recently in businesses delivering social impact through housing, skills, jobs senior living and care. He will join L&Q’s Group Board in September and will also take over as Chair of the A&RC when Mike More leaves L&Q in December.
Raj Kambo will bring over 25 years of experience with top-tier organisations alongside proven skills in establishing effective risk management processes and financial controls.
As Chief Risk Officer at Citibank UK Limited he was responsible for all aspects of Risk Management for the PRA/FCA regulated Citi UK Consumer Bank, and his work as a Non-Executive Director at both Breast Cancer Care and SignHealth means he also brings significant experience in the charity and care sectors. He is currently studying for his Diploma in Corporate Governance.
James Rolton is a Chartered Surveyor and currently Investment Director at The British Land Company Plc. He has over 15 years’ real estate experience, predominately focussed on Central London capital markets.
He has been involved in a range of high-profile property and land transactions including the sale of the Leadenhall Building (also known as “the Cheesegrater”), the sale of 5 Broadgate and 75% joint venture of Paddington Central with GIC. He has also sourced and acquired numerous investment properties across London and the South East.
