A Trafford-based foodbank and health and wellbeing charity have received £1,000 each as a result of a partnership that improves homes in the area.

In May 2024, United Living were appointed to deliver improvements to L&Q’s homes in Trafford as part of its Major Works Investment Programme. This is one of the industry’s largest housing investment projects, which will see over £3bn spent over 15 years to improve the safety, comfort and environmental performance of L&Q’s homes.
As part of this, United Living signed up to a series of social value commitments to create a lasting positive impact in the communities L&Q serves.
United Living donated £1,000 to the Trafford North Foodbank, which last year fed 12,410 people, to replenish their stock.
They also donated a further £1,000 to Aim 4 Hope, a service based in Timperley run by volunteers, to help and mentor young people through sports, games and other leisure activities to empower them to live healthier lifestyles by focusing on physical and mental wellbeing.

Earl Patrick, Social Value Manager at United Living, said:
“We are excited about starting work on helping to improve L&Q’s homes in Trafford and, as part of this, want to give back to the area. These two projects will really help some of the most vulnerable members of the community by keeping them fed and improving their mental and physical fitness, and we are honoured that we could help them.”
Mark Newstead, Director of Major Programmes at L&Q, said:
“As a charitable housing association, we’re about more than just homes and are committed to creating a lasting positive impact in the communities we serve.
“We’re proud to be working with like-minded partners like United Living. Our work together has already generated over £3mn of social value in North East London and Essex, and we’re delighted to be working together on our homes in Trafford. It’s fantastic that United Living have been able to support these valuable projects, which are making such an impact in the area”
United Living is one of ten partners working with us on our Major Works Investment Programme. This will see L&Q invest around £3bn over 15 years to improve the safety, comfort, and environmental performance of residents’ homes. Beyond improving homes, the partnership includes social value commitments to create a lasting impact in the communities where we operate.
