Dozens of pupils from Ashton-on-Mersey School brought some Christmas sparkle to our Extra Care Scheme on Monday.

The year 7 and 8 school choir raised the roof with their festive performance.

Melanie Merchant, Wellbeing Coordinator, said:

"The students sang a selection of songs from Oh Holy Night to Silent Night, and the residents joined in to raise the roof with their lovely voices.

“The pupils brought along mince pies and cakes which they shared with the residents during the interval with excited chatter about their Christmas plans.”

This is the third year that pupils at Ashton-on-Mersey School have visited Fiona Gardens to sing carols for the residents.

Melanie added: “Our residents and colleagues love the relationship that has been built with Ashton-on-Mersey School, and we hope this continues for many more years to come.”

Sally Wild, Performing Arts Technician at Ashton-on-Mersey School, said:

“We’ve been coming to Fiona Gardens for the last few years. It’s a lovely opportunity to work and connect with our community and to spread a bit of Christmas cheer. It’s always a wonderful atmosphere.”
