Young women and girls from across Tower Hamlets came together this spring for a women’s football event, delivered through the Get Set Go! Project.

Supported by L&Q and a range of local partners, the day focused on confidence-building, inclusion and creating positive experiences through sport.

The event gave participants the chance to play football in a welcoming, supportive environment, alongside taking part in personal development workshops.

While friendly competition was part of the day, the emphasis remained on enjoyment, inclusion and community.

Alongside the football sessions, workshops focused on building confidence, encouraging positivity, and helping participants think about future aspirations.

The event was delivered in partnership with:

  • L&Q Foundation
  • West Ham United Foundation
  • Leyton Orient Trust
  • The London FA
  • London Borough of Tower Hamlets

All delivery partners provide ongoing primary school provision across Tower Hamlets, helping to create sustainable pathways for girls to engage in football and physical activity throughout the year.

By building on these partnerships, the project has strong potential to grow participation and create more inclusive opportunities for girls and women across the borough.
