Beaulieu shortlisted for British Homes Awards
We've been shortlisted in the Best Housing Partnership category for our Beaulieu development at the 2021 British Homes Awards, alongside joint venture partner Countryside.
Selected by a judging panel hailing from various sectors of the building industry – from architecture and master planning through to interior design - the shortlist narrows down the very best developments across the UK.
One of the most important developments in Essex, Beaulieu is a sustainable urban expansion for the growing city of Chelmsford, being delivered by a 50/50 joint venture between us and Countryside. Born from a shared vision between the partners, the landmark 610-acre development will ultimately deliver 3,600 homes, of which 30% are affordable.
A key focus for the partnership is our landscape-led approach: Beaulieu boasts 176 acres of public open space and has been designed to be completely accessible without a car, through an elaborate network of footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways. The homes are set amongst themed, manicured gardens and tree-lined avenues.
The latest phase of new homes from L&Q is due to launch this weekend – The Arbour brings 225 Shared Ownership homes to the expanding community.
The winners of the British Homes Awards 2021 will be announced in November.
