L&Q has today had its top grade ratings for governance and financial viability confirmed by the Regulator for Social Housing (RSH).

The RSH regulates registered providers of social housing to promote a viable, efficient and well-governed sector able to deliver homes that meet a range of needs.

During a robust inspection of L&Q, the regulator assessed a number of areas, including:

·        Strategy
·        Value for money
·        Governance and structure
·        Risk
·        Internal audit and control
·        Financial resilience
·        Business planning
·        Treasury management

As part of the process, inspectors met with L&Q’s Group Board, Executive Group, committee chairs and staff from various business areas.

David Montague, L&Q Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted that following a thorough assessment, the regulator has confirmed our top-tier g1/v1 ratings for governance and financial viability.

“This judgement should reassure our residents, investors, partners and other stakeholders that L&Q is more ambitious than ever, but remains anchored by sound financial management and a robust approach to risk management, business planning and stress testing.

“They can also be reassured that our Group Board has an integral role in our business, and we have highly effective governance structures in place right across the organisation.

“I would like to thank everyone across L&Q who took part in the inspection process and contributed to this excellent result.”
