The Pavilions wins Housing Design Award
L&Q is delighted to announce that the Pavilions has won a prestigious Housing Design Award.
The Pavilions is an attractive PRS led residential community located between Islington and King’s Cross. The development comprises 156 homes, including 56 affordable rented flats to help meet local housing need.
Built in July 2018 by Telford Homes, the scheme has sustainability at its heart, with generous open spaces planted with trees, green roofs to encourage biodiversity, and solar panels. The development was also designed with an educational nature trail and bird hide to be used by local schools and community groups.
The coveted Housing Design Awards were launched in 1948 to celebrate the very best in design quality. They are the only design awards promoted by all five major professional institutions – RICS, RIBA, RPTI, Landscape Institute and the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists. Backers of the awards including the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Homes England and the Greater London Authority. Judging was carried out through site visits by industry experts and government officials.
