Could your child benefit from free private tuition?
We have some places available on our fantastic private tuition programme, Tutors United.
Free face-to-face tuition, primarily in maths and English, for children in years 4, 5 and 6 (ages eight to 11), is available for Newham, Southwark and Barking residents. Pupils in other areas can receive online support.
Lessons take place for one hour a week, between 4pm and 6pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays depending on location. Classes will run until the end of the summer term.
More about Tutors United
Tutors United supports primary school children and their families to improve their learning at home by training and paying university students to deliver private tuition. Their curriculum is designed by expert teachers and supports the national curriculum, with a focus on maths and English lessons.
Previous years have seen the average maths score of a Tutors United pupil rise by 67%. They’ve also moved up by an average of two sub-levels in English, which is the national rate of improvement after a year of full-time schooling.
Owen and Elsie Kumah, from Haggerston, have seen their children thrive on the programme.
Owen said,
“Tutors United have been like a family to us. The tutors and the other kids are part of our lives now. We are so grateful, and it’s a blessing having them around to help us.
I always tell the kids how lucky they are that people are offering to help them with their work.”
