Website currently unavailable

We are currently managing a cyber security issue related to L&Q's website. As a result of this incident our website, including online services for residents, are currently unavailable, and may continue being so for some time until we are confident we can restore the website safely and securely. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Directly affected residents have been contacted by email. If you have not received a message from us, you will not have been affected by this issue. Our thorough investigation so far indicates that no residents' financial information, such as bank details, have been accessed. Our wider databases containing residents' personal information and operational information, such as details of our interactions with residents about their home or tenancy, also remain secure.

Advice for affected residents

This targeted incident has resulted in an unauthorised person or organisation accessing emails or webform messages sent to us by a large number of L&Q residents, and we have contacted directly affected residents by email.

So far, we've had no reports of anyone attempting to use this information maliciously, however there is an increased risk of fraud attempts and phishing by email because of this incident.

Please contact us at incidentsupport@lqgroup.org.uk if you receive any message or requests from L&Q, or an organisation claiming to work on our behalf, that you are concerned about and think may be fraudulent.

You can also report fraudulent communications of any kind to Report Fraud at www.reportfraud.police.uk or by calling 0300 123 2040.

Protect yourself from scammers

Be extra alert to phishing emails. These are messages that falsely claim to be L&Q or one of our partners. Check the sender and look at what comes after the @ in an email address. Even if the email address looks genuine, always review the entire message carefully. Poor spelling, unusual formatting or a strange greeting are classic warning signs that the sender is not L&Q.

Don't give anyone claiming to be from L&Q your bank details. L&Q and our partners will never ask you to confirm your identity by asking for your bank details.

Not sure? Don't click or open. Don't click links or open attachments in messages from senders you don't know or trust.

Be certain before you share. To protect yourself from scammers it's important that you never give out personal information without being certain the person or organisation requesting it is genuine.

Be sure before you open the door. L&Q and the contractors we work with will always contact you to make an appointment before visiting your home. Don't let anyone in who claims to be from L&Q but hasn't made an appointment, even if they have L&Q or contractor identification. If in doubt, call the contact centre number and we'll check that there is an appointment.

Request a call back. If someone phones claiming to be from L&Q, but you're not sure, request that they call back using L&Q's contact centre phone numbers so you can check the number they are dialling from is genuine.
