I am in debt what should I do?

If you are in debt, these are important do's and don'ts:

  • Don't ignore the problem or try to hide debts, things will just get worse
  • Don't just borrow more money to repay debts
  • Do get free professional advice
  • Do make a list of everyone you owe money to and let them know that you are having problems
  • Do prioritise debts and pay the most important first
