Shared owner’s national forum

Two shared owners from a north London housing association have set up a non-profit making organisation called Staircase, a national forum for shared owners.

Staircases main purpose is to be an independent body run for the benefit of individual shared owners. But it also intends to be a source of advice, and to represent all shared owners, when policies and strategies affecting shared ownership are considered at a local or national level.

The aim is to provide a focus for shared owners across the country to come together to support each other and to influence government, housing association and local authority policies.

We think that Staircase is offering a great opportunity for shared owners and have provided them with advice and support in getting set up.
