Our proposals

Our proposals through a stock transfer in Forest Hill will include improvements to your homes and the surrounding environment.

We will invest in community facilities and community projects to create a thriving neighbourhood. Homes will stay at affordable rents and we will also be working out arrangements to offer a great deal for leaseholders.

Our promises

  • Decent Homes in two years: All homes will meet the Decent Homes standard within two years of transfer. This means we will replace kitchens, bathrooms, windows and look at further upgrading where needed. There will be an accelerated programme to ensure everyone has the improvements made to their homes.
  • Environmental improvements: This could include improvements to communal areas, fencing and security improvements.
  • Turbo boost funding: In the first 100 days after transfer we will target those issues that make the most difference to you.
  • Rents kept affordable: The same target rents will apply with L&Q as they would if you stay with the council, but L&Q will improve your homes to a higher standard and improve your homes.
  • Excellent housing management and repair service: You will have a named housing officer visible in your area and an excellent maintenance service that will respond quickly to day to day problems as well as planning maintenance for the future.
  • Investment in community development: We will provide a dedicated neighbourhood investment coordinator to work with residents and help set up community projects that will provide activities for all sections of society.
  • Community board: Residents will be at the heart of decision making about the service they receive by having the opportunity to sit on the community board and help plan for the future.
