South Bucks: residents prove they are top of the pots
Oct 11 2011
Green-fingered residents proved that they are top of the pots at this year’s Blooming Borders competition.
L&Q’s West Neighbourhood staged the competition for residents in sheltered schemes across South Bucks, and the standard of entries was higher than ever.
The winners this year were:
Best Patio Pots - Colston Court, Gerrards Cross
Best Roof Garden - Bodley House, Iver Heath
Best Front Garden - Duncan Lock House, Beaconsfield
Best Raised Beds - Bolds Court, Stoke Poges
Overall Winner - Kiln Court, Beaconsfield
Janet Feakes from L&Q said: “Outdoor space is very important to the residents in our sheltered schemes. Even if they are unable to be physically involved with the gardening, everyone enjoys the beautiful flowers and wildlife.
“It is obvious how much pride everyone takes in their gardens and how much hard work goes in to making things look so good.”
A celebration for all the entrants was held at the end of September with certificates and a trophy awarded to the winners.
