Celebrity chef cooks up a storm at South Bucks event
Jul 30 2010
It was fun for the whole family this week as L&Q launched the first of its free 'Picnic in the Park' events at Burnham Park on Thursday, 29th July with the help of celebrity chef, Richard Fox.
The TV presenter, supporting the 'Love Food, Hate Waste' campaign, was on hand to cook up some culinary treats for the community and dish out advice and tips on cooking with leftover ingredients. Children were kept entertained with a bouncy castle, face painters, a petting farm and took part in taster sessions of kick boxing and rugby.
The picnic was organised by the Neighbourhood Investment team at L&Q and supported by the local council. The local Fire Brigade and Police officers were also on hand to enjoy the picnic and speak to residents about any concerns or issues they may have about the neighbourhood.
Further picnics are scheduled across South Buckinghamshire and Hampshire throughout August. Aisha Chaudhry, from L&Q's Neighbourhood Investment team said: "Everyone had a fantastic time at the picnic this week and it was brilliant to have so many people from the community take part. The kids really had a good time and the adults enjoyed the delicious food cooked by Richard Fox.
"These picnics are a great initiative from our Neighbourhood Investment team. As well as being a fun afternoon for families, they are a great opportunity for the community to get together and share information too. We are looking forward to all of the picnics scheduled this month and hope to see as many people there as we had at Burnham Park this week."
