L&Q hosts Estate Champions get together
Apr 06 2010
Estate Champions from across L&Q's West Neighbourhood met in Slough recently for an Estate Champions "mini-conference."
L&Q Estate Champions are residents who work closely with our Estate Management and Neighbourhood Services teams to improve their local area.
Attendees of the mini-conference were provided with lunch and given a presentation about the role and L&Q's expectations of Estate Champions. They also took the chance to network with fellow Champions and discuss common issues from around their respective estates.
Janet Feakes, an L&Q Neighbourhood Investment Officer, hailed the contribution of Estate Champions: "We were all really pleased to listen to Charmain Luke, our Estate Champion at Banstead Court in East Acton, talk about how being involved with L&Q affected her life.
"Charmain has been a Champion since 2008 and on her estate has seen everything from flooding to freezing weather, Father Christmas to planting bulbs.
"She is a wonderful example to everyone with her 'can do' attitude; she is always ready to help everyone."
L&Q wants to involve as many residents as possible in the management of their own communities. For further information about the Estate Champions programme visit the Estate Champions Section of our website here.
