Reading resident surgery

L&Q has teamed up with Catalyst Housing Group and Reading Council to run a fortnightly open surgery for residents to discuss any questions or queries they may have about where they live.

The 'Reading Resident Surgery' began on Monday 25 October and runs every other Monday from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Each surgery has a different theme such as flood awareness, youth involvement and neighbourhood watch. The surgery is open to all local residents and no appointment is currently needed.

Address: Community Centre Amersham Road, Caversham, Reading, Berks, RG4 5BP

The next surgery will be on 08/11/2010

Melanie Williamson, Neighbourhood Services Officer from L&Q said, "The surgery is a great opportunity for the residents to drop in and discuss any housing needs or questions they may have. So far it's been going really well with residents keen to find out what's on offer in the community centre and how we can all work together to continue making the Amersham road estate a great place to live.

"By engaging with our residents we can work together to make a real difference. We want to hear what residents need and want to see on the estate and would encourage anyone to pop along and have a chat with us over a cup of coffee."

L&Q has 52 properties on the Amersham Road estate including; Ian Mikardo Way, Rhine Close and Managua Close and has worked in the borough for 3 years. The open surgery began following resident feedback. Residents wanted to be able to meet with L&Q staff on a regular basis to discuss any issues or ideas for the estate. The surgery will initially run as a pilot project and if successful will be made permanent.
