Residents plan art exhibition
Jul 17 2009
Artists are being invited to display their
work at an exhibition organised by L&Q residents.
“Art at the Mills” is being hosted by
residents of Thames Tunnel Mills, a Grade II listed 19th century
flour mill right on the River Thames in Rotherhithe that has been carefully
restored into flats by L&Q.
Resident and organiser Ricardo Mandarino
said: “Art at the Mills is an annual event and this year we are going to open
our doors to the public to share art and community spirit in a unique place.
“It is a contemporary art exhibition
providing a showcase of a wide range of work by residents and guest artists. We
will display work in all styles and media, including painting, printing,
photography, sculpture and film.”
The exhibition will run on September 19th
and 20th and in previous years there have been visits by local MPs,
councillors and other local dignitaries, as well as art lovers.
