Reaching residents through street property forums

Feb 21 2011

Street property forum

Teams from across L&Q have come together to set up a series of street property forums designed to help engage with residents who don’t live on estates.

The forums were launched earlier in the year and have so far been run in both Croydon and Lambeth, where L&Q has a large number of street properties.

The residents came together at the forum to talk about neighbourhood issues and also think about how they could link up with each other to create better communities. For many, this was the first time they had met other L&Q residents from their local area.

The Croydon forum members took part in an interactive mapping exercise to help shape discussions about their community and how they could make improvements. A number of points were raised and staff are now taking action and will be reporting back to Neighbourhood Committees in June.

Asif Chisty, Neighbourhood Investment Officer, said: “We were really pleased with the number of residents who attended.

“The forums were a brilliant collaborative effort as staff from many different teams came together to help answer questions and deal with issues.”
