Wandsworth: advice day for residents

Wandsworth Council held a Community Advice Day on Wednesday 24th June for residents to get advice on housing, benefits, social services, work and volunteering.

Staff from L&Q were there to talk to residents and provide information on how we can support people with their housing needs. Home ownership was a hot topic and we gave advice on the different options L&Q has available. These include part-buy, part-rent and UpToYou, which allows people to choose to rent or buy their new homes.

People were keen to find out about the support L&Q offers with training and employment and we referred people to our neighbourhood investment team for more information. Many were also interested in improving the areas where they live and being actively involved in the community so we gave them details of our estate champions and neighbourhood committee schemes.
