Newham development wins Award - last few shared ownership homes available
May 17 2011
L&Q’s Greengate House development has won The London Evening Standard New Homes Awards for ‘Best New Family Home’.
The London Evening Standard New Homes Awards, now in their 20th year, celebrate the highest standards of skill, design and craftsmanship in today’s new homes. Entries were judged by a panel of industry experts and 20 Evening Standard readers with an interest in homes and property. Award winners were announced on Friday May 13.
The housing scheme, in Plaistow, offers a mix of one and two bedroom homes available through shared ownership (part buy, part rent). With just the last few homes remaining now is the perfect time to get onto the property ladder with an award winning home.
The striking building, built in 1919, is a remarkable piece of architecture. The architects have kept the original charms and features of this historical Edwardian construction, but have incorporated new technology and design to make this development ideal for contemporary living. The apartments are stylish and very well equipped, with sleek contemporary kitchens inclusive of appliances, well designed modernised bathroom, floor coverings, carpet in the bedrooms, and video entry system.
You can also enjoy the surroundings and views of the city scenery as you sit on the balcony of your new home at Greengate House. Greengate House from L&Q offers an inspiring place to live, perfectly placed with local amenities and good transport links and with beautiful panoramic views taking in Canary Wharf, the Olympic Stadium The Gherkin, and The O2.
Cathy Lloyd, L&Q’s Head of Sales said, “We are very pleased to have won such a prestigious award for Greengate House. This stunning development is a perfect combination of historic elegance with modern day living and provides a fantastic opportunity for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder through shared ownership.
“We have seen unprecedented levels of interest over the last year for our schemes across London and the South East as more and more people are realising there are affordable and attractive alternatives to buying their first home on the open market.”
