Stock transfer hat-trick
Apr 01 2009
L&Q has been confirmed by Lewisham's Mayor and Cabinet as the preferred housing association partner on the Catford stock transfer.
The decision makes it a historic stock transfer hat-trick in Lewisham for L&Q and a successful ballot of residents will add another 868 homes to our South East Neighbourhood portfolio.
Thanks to excellent bids led by the Development Projects Team, L&Q has already been chosen as the preferred housing association partner to progress to ballot on transfers in Rushey Green (1,100 homes) and Forest Hill & Sydenham (1,700 homes combined).
In the coming months there willl also be a ballot of residents to regenerate the Excalibur Estate in Lewisham and, if successful, this will create more than 400 new homes over the next few years.
Caroline Boguzas, Assistant Director of Economic Regeneration and Stock Transfers, acknowledges the huge task of delivering four successful ballots over the next year.
She said: "We already have a team of 75 volunteers from all neighbourhoods and departments within L&Q pounding the streets in what is the biggest consultation programme we have undertaken so far. With such a great team behind the effort I am confident we are up to the task."
