Estate Champions
Estate Champions are residents who work closely with our Estate Management and Neighbourhood Services teams to improve their local area. They meet L&Q staff regularly to:
- attend estate inspections;
- discuss local issues;
- provide feedback on L&Q contractors;
- participate in estate action planning;
- identify estate improvement projects.
Estate Champions act as an extra pair of eyes and ears in their area, reporting any problems they become aware of and helping us to resolve them.
Why become an Estate Champion?
As an Estate Champion you will be the formal link between your area and L&Q. By taking responsibility for reporting problems, you can ensure that we are able to respond quickly, improving the quality of life for everyone in your area.
You will work with us to identify local improvements and bid for funding from your local Neighbourhood Committees Estate Improvement Programme. You will also be able to apply for an additional £250 to fund local projects in their area.
What do I need to become an Estate Champion?
L&Q wants to involve as many residents as possible in the management of their own communities. To become an Estate Champion you will need:
- to have an interest in improving your local area;
- to be available to meet with L&Q in your local area several times a year.
You do not need to live on an estate; you could be an Estate Champion for your block, your street or your local area.
